Rotarod

Rotarod for Mice and Rats

Model: BLI-RO01M/BLI-RO01R/BLI-RO01MR

Description

The Rotarod is a simple test to assess motor function and coordination in rodents. Motor coordination or fatigue can be evaluated by measuring the time the animal stays on a rotating rod before falling. The Rotarod can rotate at constant, accelerating, and rocking through complex acceleration/deceleration ramps operated by the software.

Features

  • Touch-screen to set parameters and monitor the experiment
  • 3 operation modes: constant, accelerating, and ramp (alternating acceleration and deceleration) speed control
  • Both the mice and rats are available in one device (Optional Complex Wheels)
  • Automatically records fall latencies, distances traveled, and RPM at time of fall
  • Adjustable rotating speed from 3 to 50 RPM, in steps of 1 RPM
  • Individual timers at each lane
  • Automatically convert data to save a CSV file on USB
